Science Centre

Today started like most days lately- the kids getting up, and being excited to find George and what he did over night!

This morning, George had hid in Bryce's stocking and left a poem. He had hidden 13 snowflakes, each with a letter on it. Those letters would spell out what we were doing for the day.

The kids found all the snowflakes, and I put them together and read out what we were doing. They were so excited because they have been wanting to go since the new science centre opened up 4 weeks ago.

We were at the science centre for almost the whole day. The kids had a great time, and not one fight. They liked the whole thing, but LOVED the creative kids museum in there. We were in there for over 2 hours! Everything in there is hands on. The kids had a great time trying so many different things. Here are some of the things we did...
This was a track they could make for ping pong balls, then turn on the fan and watch it go through.
This was a solar powered music maker- they shined their lights on each circle to make a different sound!
They were making a river- watching how it changed when they moved the sand
The boys loved this. They put the paper, fabric etc in it, then turned on the fan- the paper would fly up the tube, out and all over them!
Danika enjoyed taking apart a mother board for a computer!
This was cool- they used pool noodles, swinging them around an it "hit" the spots on the screen to make music!
The kids were "drawing" with this- they could change the colour in each paint pot, and then when they drew on the screen, it would use that colour and the sound of the musical instrument written on the paint pot!
 Magnets!
 Racing rings
 The big water table!
 water painting on slate
In the theatre- they could dress up, work the background and the lights!
Magnetic blocks- I have to buy some of these!
 In the play fort
This was sweet- Bryce couldn't get around the fort area, so Danika was picking him up and helping him. Another boy went to go past and she said,"Oh, can you wait, my brother is just getting down". My sweet kids!
