This past weekend, we cleaned up the back yard. We added some sod to the "grassy" (weedy) area, so it all looks fresh and clean back there. Well of course, that got me going. Brett on the other hand thought he had made me happy enough for awhile! (He was wrong, I was happy, but it got me on a roll!)
So, inside the house, I was planning some things out. Some of which I can do on my own. Others, I am not so good with, so I need his help (that list is forever growing). I have a few small things in a couple of the rooms. Nothing that is too major (for right now!).
I started, and pretty much finished, the things that I can do. His list, well, I keep hounding him, and sort of planning on when he is going to do each one!
I have been looking for a new way to display the kids art work. I had a couple of clip type picture frames on this one wall. But, it is also the wall with the broken doorbell thingy, and the thermostat. So, they just were there! I wanted to make the wall look better. I found this idea on pinterest, and loved it. It cost me all of $11!
Then, I have been looking at some of these menu boards on pinterest as well (yes, Brett is NOT a fan of pinterest!). I finally saw one that I had to do. It is some magnets on a cookie sheet then attached to the wall! It cost me about $5! In the box on the bottom right, I wrote out all the meals that we have, each type on a different colour (beef, chicken, eggs, pork, other etc). Then, each week, we will decide what we are having and put them up there. Because I put this in the corner, I made another one that just has magnets on it. I will be putting the recipes up there, or pictures etc.
Oh yeah, I found these cool things. They are 3M velcro strips. The same type that just pull off when you are done. They are holding the letters on (ART), and also the cookie sheets on the wall! They are great!
I also got a larger garbage can for beside the recycle bin (I got tired of it overflowing under the sink everyday!). And then under the sink, I bought stacking shelf/bin type things and put all the towels, and cloths under there!
Then, I also made Brett go to Home Depot and get some wood for the picture he bought in Jamaica. He bought it on canvas, so he had to mount it. He has done that, and now just has to switch the rooms that a couple pictures are up in. After he does that, he has to move one of the shelves above the tv! (That is his list for now, I keep bugging him to fix the entry way- again, I saw 2 ideas on pinterest that I just HAVE to have! It would help so much in the entry way! I will probably post about those when we are 50 and he finally does it!)
My next project is cleaning up the play room! When we were organizing and cleaning up the fish/family room downstairs, it got the dump of stuff that has no where to go!
