Snow in April

Of Course there is snow in April! It was almost gone, like one shovel full in the backyard- in the shade! BUT, then we had to get one more big dump! We had probably a foot and a half (I am guessing), by the time it was all done. Of course, to us, not fun. We were getting ready for spring. Dreaming of being able to get the kids outside, and not being cooped up in the house all day! But getting up Saturday morning, those thoughts and dreams came crashing down!

But, of course you have to make the most of it right? So, Saturday- as you read before this, we had a surprise day for the kids. Because I pretty much got nothing done on that day, I had to do it all on Sunday, which was fine. Brett had promised Danika that they would make a snowman. So, while Bryce napped, I was able to go to Wal-mart to get groceries alone! YAY!!

Being instructed by a 3 year old is not always fun. But, I thought it was pretty funny that when I asked Brett if there was anything he needed, Danika piped up and said "a carrot, for the snowman's nose". Well, with it not being written on my list- oddly enough, I went to the produce section first and bought ONE carrot. Yep- the only thing in my cart for a while was one single carrot.

When I left the two of them were heading outside to build a snowman. 2 hours later I come home to see this...

And I only had 1 carrot!

(Thankfully I had bought a long one, and a bag of baby carrots, so now, mommy and Daddy snowman have carrot noses (shared from one carrot broken in half, Danika and Bryce snowmen have baby carrot noses, and the little Dexi snowcat has one too!)
