Happy Easter 2011

Happy Easter to all of our friends and family!

We have had a few days of activities, and fun surrounding Easter. We started last week doing our Easter crafts. The kids had a great time making Eggs, Bunny Ears, and Easter Baskets!

On Friday we went to the zoo with Andrea, Landon, Neely, Leslie, Ryan, Taylor and Brooklynn. Unfortunately we had to leave Daddy at home to work. It was very busy at the zoo as they were doing their Easter Eggstravaganza. We got to go on a scavenger hunt, the kids made Bunny pots and got to plant a plant in them. And they got to meet the Easter Bunny! We didn't see many animals, or take part in every activity, mainly because it was SO busy! But, we all had a good time, and the weather was actually nice!

Saturday, I took the kids up to my dad and step moms house. Danika got to bake a pie with her Auntie Holly, she really enjoyed that, and was so proud of herself! And then we all decorated Eggs! They didn't understand why they couldn't see what they were coloring on the egg with the white crayon, until we dipped it in the dye. Danika enjoyed it, Bryce was amazed. He was yelling, he was so excited! He couldn't figure out where they were all going! He was so surprised when they came out a different color! Everything was great, until Bryce was mixing the blue dye and spilled it everywhere- I have never seen that many of us move that quickly- thankfully it all got cleaned up nicely! And surprisingly no stains!

The Easter Bunny had made a stop there before his stop at our place that night (Thanks Grandma and Grandpa). The kids got a small singing bunny, and some chocolate. Bryce, being the smarty pants that he is, was taking chocolates from Danika's basket first, and then moved on to his!

When we got home from grandma and grandpa's house, we put out the Easter Eggs for the Easter Bunny and headed to bed. Bryce was on such a sugar high that he was awake in his room until almost 10pm! Which is not like Bryce!

This morning the kids got up to find all the hidden eggs. They found the 12 that they colored yesterday, and 12 big plastic ones which were filled with the little chocolate eggs (which have now been put aside for a treat on our trip!). They loved all the hiding places that the Easter Bunny used! Bryce was over excited with everything, he was just squeeling with joy when he found an egg, it was so funny! The Easter bunny also left them each a new plastic bucket, and Aero chocolate egg, skipping rope, bubbles, jacks, a ball, sunglasses and a stuffed Bunny. We followed the egg hunt with a good breakfast of blueberry waffles, with bacon. After breakfast Brett took the kids outside to play with their bubbles, he took this video of them...

(we highly recommend the bubbles they got. I got them at walmart for $3- the non spill containers that came with it really work. Brett said no even a drop came out of them! And of course you can just keep refilling! I may have to go and get some more, so we can have multiples around the house, and in our bag!)

Now, we are off to have Easter Dinner in Strathmore with Bretts moms side of the family!

Happy Easter to everyone, we hope your Easter has been as great as ours!
