Today was a clinic day. I was up at 6am- for some odd reason- well it wasn't too odd, there was a 3 year old's foot in my back!
I was in the hospital by 9 and got my blood work done. I talked to a couple nurses, and found out that my bone marrow transplant nurse is expecting a baby- she got sick when I was getting my transplant (that week)- and wasn't able to be there for the transplant. Turned out she wasn't sick, but pregnant! Congrats to her.
Then my doctor came in to give me the GREAT news. Last week I had a bone marrow test done- well she got the results, and there is NO signs of leukemia!!!! YAY! So, she told me that I can get my central line taken out- which will be done this thursday- no more jumper cables! She also told me that she doesn't want to see me until July 5th. I have an MRI on friday, and we are still waiting for the results of the EEG. But she said she would just call when we have them. She is assuming that the EEG will be normal- and I will be able to ween off my med that I take twice a day- do it once a day for a week, then off of it all together. Then I will only have 2 pills per day to take. She is also assuming that the MRI will be normal, and the blood clot in my brain will be gone, which will mean that I can stop the blood thinner needle that I do daily!
So, all around great news today. We are so happy. Now onto normal life!
We are still trying to be advocates, and raise money for leukemia research. We are over our goal for the light the night walk- but still accepting donations, and people to walk with us. So head on over to our website and sign up to walk, or hit the button to sponsor us in our journey!
