Fun in the sun

FINALLY!
We bought Danika a water table for her birthday- she was with me when I bought it, so she got it early- plus with summers being so short here, we thought that way she would have more time to play with it. But after I bought it, it got cold and rainy here again. So the water table sat in the living room (with no water) for a week! The kids played with it in the living room, and were still happy doing that, but they wanted water.

Mom got here on Friday, and we have been spending some time in the back yard. It was really nice on Saturday, so we were able to bring the water table out. Danika and Taylor played in it all afternoon- they had so much fun. Mom had bought the girls new bathing suits as well- so they put those on and played some more.

We have been having fun with mom here, on Sunday we all went to the zoo, with mom, Ryan, Leslie, Brooklynn and Taylor. It was a long day, but we all had lots of fun.

Mom and I also did some shopping at wal-mart the other day with Danika. She was having a blast riding with me on the motorized wheelchair. And then yesterday, mom and I took Danika shopping again- we went to the disney store to pick out Danika's birthday present. Mom bought her a princess purse that came with sunglasses, camera, cell phone, lip stick (not real), eye shadow (not real), a credit card, and money. She LOVES it- she hasn't put it down, and wanted to take it to bed last night. We told her she had to hang her purse (we have hooks on the shelf at the front door because we are trying to teach her to take her shoes and coat off herself and put them away- which is also going good)- so she hung up her purse, and picked it up first thing this morning! She is a definite princess!

Mom also took me to Reitmans to look at these comfort pants. I have lost a bunch of weight with what I have gone through and nothing really fit. I am getting into clothes that I wore before getting pregnant with Danika. So we went to look at those pants. I tried on a size 13- I was in the 20's before. But the 13 was a bit big, so we asked the lady to find an 11. She couldn't find many 11's- but did find 9s. I was pretty sure they wouldn't fit- but surprisingly they did. I haven't worn single digits since grad 9! We bought some walking style shorts, capri's and a pair of jeans plus some tops. So today I need to go through my closet and get rid of the clothes that are too big.

So far moms trip out is going good, the kids are all having a blast playing with each other and showing off for Grandma. She works today and tomorrow, thursday I have to get my stitches out, Friday Brett is going to go camping until Saturday night- so mom is staying with us- and we have no idea what next week will bring!

Oh and Bryce is learning to communicate- even though he still really isn't talking. If you tell him to go get something- most of the time he will. If he is holding something and you ask him to give it to you- he will (he usually takes it right back though). And when I lay my blanket on the floor and tell him to go ni- night- he crawls over, lays on the blanket and sucks his thumb- I have to get video of that because it is so cute!

We hope everyone is enjoying the warm weather- but PLEASE remember your sunscreen and hats!
