Becoming human again

This week was a good week. To start we didn't have to wake up at 6am Monday morning to go to the hospital- I didn't have to be there until Wednesday afternoon- since Monday was a holiday. That was nice. But there was better news when we did go to the doctor Wednesday afternoon. The main point of the news is that I will become human again!!!

I have to go to the doctor now once every two weeks- instead of every week! YAY- but they hope to only have that happen once- then when I see them again on June 7th, they are hoping to tell me to come back once a MONTH!! YEAH- I can taste the freedom!

I have to go next Wednesday to do another bone marrow test- it is standard at 12 weeks post transplant to have one done- just to be sure everything went as planned, and as it seems. Then on the Thursday I will go have an EEG done- for those of you that don't know- they will put little stickers all over my head and test for seizure activity. I will get the results of both of those tests on the 7th at my appointment. But if they are both normal I can ween off of the seizure medication, and maybe start taking less of some other meds! (They took me off more this week too- so now I take 4 pills a day- 3 different kinds, one I take twice a day- and my needle- which is blood thinner).

On Friday the 11th I will go for a MRI- to see about the blood clot in my brain. If it is gone- which we should know the following week for sure- then I can stop the needle too! See life is coming back- sometimes you just have to be patient.

They also said if all of these tests turn out good, then they will schedule my line removal- I have a central catheter line in my chest that they hook me up to IVs with, and draw blood threw- it makes all the needles WAY easier! But it is a pain in the butt! I have to be really careful around the kids with it!

So, I will be turning human again! It is nice- I just have to get my energy back- which can take over a year. But I am starting to do more around the house- helping the kids with things like potty, snacks, drinks, getting ready for dinner/meals. I even made corn on the cob last night, and garlic toast- and I even took the shucks (is that what they are called) off the corn! And I have been trying to help clean things up and keep the place looking decent. Brett is in charge of dishes though- so if you are ever here and there are dishes out- blame him! LOL!

All of these progressions is making me feel like a person again, like mom again, like a wife and HUMAN! I am not someone who is sick and needs everyones help to recover- and I know I can do things myself, and take care of me and my family- just like I should be!

Thank you again to everyone who has, and is helping out- it is still very appreciated!

Wonderful Sweetie! You are Human but you will be a better human! Dishes and Brett never got along, but that is a small thing in life. The bigger things are more important. See you soon, love you! Mom
