A year in photos- September

Yesterday was the first of September- WOW. I can't believe it. September!

We didn't take any pictures of the kids yesterday- mainly because we were so busy, and also because we are heading to my dads today for dinner, so I am going to take the good camera and see what kind of shots I can get.

We are going up there to wish my sister a good trip, and great year in University. And also to wish my brother and his family a good trip, as they are moving to Ontario. I am going to miss them all terribly, but everyone is just a phone call/text/skype away! So, we are all setting out to have a good time- and possibly some great photo's!

September is going to be a busy month for us. Danika is starting school on Tuesday, and then Bryce will be doing a preschool class starting on the 17th. I am also going back to work full time, watching a friends little girl. Brett has another marathon in Drumheller, so we are going to go up there and do the dinosaur museum, and have a weekend away. We also have a work party with Brett's company, and some birthday parties in there too! And, we end it all off with the light the night walk!

As for the kids, they are growing like weeds! I have to measure them again, but I know they have grown, even since August! Their summer clothes are starting to not fit! Thankfully summer is pretty much over- the days are still nice, but a bit chilly and the nights are cold! (well to me anyways). So, we can start wearing pants and hoodies again!

Danika is so excited to start school this month. She keeps asking which classroom she will be in- one of them had a leopard gecko when we went to visit- but I think she is in the other class. It sounds like they have had teaching changes since then, so we will see. She still plays- almost every day- in her room, and pretends that it is a pet store/vet/zoo. She knows SO MUCH about animals! She really enjoyed our many zoo trips this summer (Vancouver, Edmonton and Calgary), and also the Vancouver Aquarium! She also can't wait to see the dinosaurs in Drumheller! Danika still really loves to sing and Dance, and she loves to put on concerts for us. After a particularly good day a few days ago- she was in her room singing "Tonight is going to be a good night" by the Black Eyed Peas! She can memorize a song so quickly, and so well!

Bryce had a good summer too, I can't believe how much his memory has grown. We started working on numbers and letters at the beginning of summer, and I am going to be honest, I wasn't sure if it was sticking. But lately, he has been telling me what numbers and letters he sees while we are out- and he is as proud of himself as I am! He told me all the numbers on the airplane ride at Calaway- randomly- and starting with the one we were in- 8, then the one Danika was in 3- then the others he could see! He is also expanding on the things that he likes- Spiderman has turned into pretty much any superhero- although he does really like Captain America. He still likes cars- but when he plays with them, there is much more imagination involved. He has also taken an interest in Dinosaurs. I bought a couple small books while in BC, and we have been learning the names- he is really good! With those books, we bought a space one- and he can tell me at any time I ask- which one has the rings, which is the biggest, where do we live, what is the red planet, and my favourite- which has the weirdest name- to which we both say URANUS at the same time! (I have told Brett that I have even learned many more things now that I have a boy!)

I will add pictures later! Along with measurements, so this really can be a year in photo's blog!

(okay, I forgot the camera when we went to my dads! But, of course I took pictures on the first day of school, so I will use those!)
