Reflecting

New years is a time to reflect on your past and make wishes for your future, so as I say Happy 2011 to all our friends and Family, I want to reflect and wish as well.

2010 started out, well different. We weren't sure what the year was going to be like for us. Medically with my Leukemia, we just weren't sure what was going on. We were moving to our condo, And starting our "new" life.

In February we found out that I would have a stem cell transplant, with help from my brother, and also welcomed our second niece, Brooklynn into the family!

March, we were back in the hospital fore my stem cell transplant. I had my transplant on the 5th, and then Brett and I celebrated our 5 year anniversary in that hospital room on the 12th. Thankfully for his birthday we were home. And my mom finally got to go home at the end of the month, something I know she was looking forward too! It is nice to get back to your regular life!

April was tough for us as we adjusted to our new life, Brett trying to work, and take care of everything. He did amazing, but it was tough!

May we celebrated Bryce's first birthday, wow time goes fast!

June is when I really started feeling better. I was getting my taste buds and energy back. I was able to do things with the kids, and help out around the house.

July we celebrated Danika's 3rd birthday, fun at Riley park!

August, I took both kids, myself on the plane to visit mom and Auntie Donna. It was a good trip, crazy, but good!

September we celebrated my 6 months since the transplant as well as my 30th birthday! My birthday was a little different than I had planned, but I learned many things with this extra special milestone, and it was special in it's own way! Danika also started some preschool classes to help with her being away from us!

October had us being thankful for many things, life, love, family and friends! And Danika got to go trick or treating for the first time!

November brought some decision making for us, I decided to go back to work, sort of. And we discussed some plans for the new year.

December, was filled with celebration and holiday fun for all of us. It was nice to have this special time.

As I look back on 2010, I realize that things can change in the blink of an eye, and that you really shouldn't judge a book by it's cover! I learned that you can't plan everything, sometimes life has it's own plan. And I learned that with enough motivation, you can accomplish anything.

At the beginning of the year, I wasn't sure where I would be right now. I could barely walk, I needed help to do everything, and with the motivation of my family (and friends), I am better than I ever was now.

Yes, 2010 was a tough year, but it was a good year- although, we don't want to do it again!

As we enter into 2011 we have some wishes. We wish everyone good health and happiness. As for us, we are going to accomplish some of our wishes. 2011 is bringing some fun and excitement our way. I am going back to work part time, watching some special friends kids. We are going to Disneyland with the Hendricks side of the family. We have decided that our little cozy condo is the perfect place for our family. We did think at on point it was just a resting point, that we would move on, but we love it, so we are staying. With that decision, we are going to develop the basement so the kids have a playroom, and Brett has an office. And we are going to make the backyard how we like it!

So, in 2011, we are focusing on our NEW life. We got to it in a weird way, but we love it!
