A beautiful sunday

So, I did say that Sundays were lazy days, but we had been trapped in the house for weeks, seriously, because it was so cold. Last Sunday, we decided it was so beautiful out that we were going to take the kids to the zoo. Danika seems to think that we have hot dogs every time we go, so we packed the rest of a lunch and headed out to the zoo. We had a great time, but I think Bryce was the most impressed. The last time we were at the zoo, he wasn't walking (well other than zoo lights, but it was too cold!). He walked the whole zoo. At first he was worried, kept saying "Oh No!" at the animals, but we re-assured him that they are in cages and okay. He then enjoyed each animal, almost to the boring point with Danika! He was so excited to see a turtle! That and monkeys seem to be his thing! He also found his shadow while we were there. He was getting pretty annoyed that he couldn't get his head! We finally had to pick him up there and move him to something else!

Bryce has been excelling in development lately. He has always been a gross motor type kid! He loves running, climbing, hitting/kicking/throwing balls etc. Just when we thought he would never talk, or even sit down to do an activity, he started repeating what we say, he loves to color and do crafts. He recognizes himself and Danika in pictures. He can point out many facial features. Just tonight he learned fingers, teeth, and cheeks! He is still a joker though! He knows his name, but when I ask him, he says "buba", always. And then he looks at me and laughs. He loves to laugh, and make us laugh! Bryce is still our big sleeper. His Uncle Garrett bought him a turtle pillow pet for Christmas, which Bryce LOVES. When he is ready for bed he stands at the stairs, points and says "turtle". Now, with the turtle and the monkey, we are lucky he even gets out of bed! Bryce is almost 21 months old, he is 28 pounds, and 34 inches tall! He is still all boy- not a day goes by that we don't pull out the hockey sticks to play "Go Guys"!

Danika has started her next round of preschool classes. For the next few months she is doing a gym and swim class. They play games, sing songs, do sports in the gym, and then head over for a swimming lesson. To be honest, I was very nervous about this class. This is all unparented. So, she goes from the gym, with her teacher and class, they go into the change room and have to get changed into swim wear. I was nervous because there are about 10 kids, and Danika did not undress herself, let alone dress herself. But, I decided to give it a try, and some how- I am still not sure how, she gets on to that pool deck and ready for her swimming lesson! Swimming is also with out us, which is scary for me, but thankfully we can watch. She does so good, her teacher has her laying back, and even jumping off the edge, in only 2 classes! She is also becoming a preschooler even more, she loves to play with her friends, try to do things herself, and is so excited to help out around the house. She loves helping Brett make crepes every Saturday morning! Danika is officially 3 and a half, and is 40.5 inches and almost 38 pounds! She is growing up right before our eyes, she is even signed up for preschool in the fall- she will go to school 3 mornings a week! I can't believe it!

I had my doctors appointment yesterday, all things are great. The doctors are still very impressed. I have to go back at the beginning of March for my 1 year appointment, and then I move to going in once every three months! I can't wait for that. I hadn't been since the end of November, and that was so nice. Although I love the reassurance that things are going great. I know they are, because I feel amazing, I still don't like going up to the hospital! (I mean really, who does). My life has changed in many ways, and I feel that some of the main ways are worrying less, being more health conscious (trying to eat better, doing my wii almost every day, making healthier choices for myself and family), but also that family is the most important- not anything else. So, I spend as much time with my family as possible! I also started working again, and it feels so good. It makes me feel like I am a part of society again. It is tough when you are sick, stuck at home etc. But even to be a "stay at home mom", I just didn't feel complete. Now that I can work too, I feel even better. Yes, I am tired by the end of the day, but no working person isn't! I am here with 4/5 kids, plus Brett all day. It is a great day, and I love it- but when bed time comes, I am ready!

Brett is doing good too! He has exciting news coming soon- but not yet! He is working hard, and although he loves working from home, he can't wait to get an office in the basement, so he doesn't have to be part of my craziness during the day!

We have less than 100 days until we go to Disneyland (see mentioning it Christie!). We all can't wait. Danika is packed! I am not kidding, she has toys, hair stuff, and more toys in her suitcase, which is sitting in our room- so WE don't forget it! We have locked down some plans with everyone. Trying to organize things for 8 people can be crazy, but I think the necessities are taken care of now. So, now we just have to get our passports, make it to April, and enjoy ourselves! We are planning on eating at the Rainforest cafe when we first get there, that should keep the kids entertained for that night! Then a day in Disney, A day in California Adventure, then the last day, we are doing both parks while Oma, Papa, Auntie Lindsay and Matthew enjoy a day in Legoland (we decided to skip since our kids really have no clue what lego is yet!). With our day in California Adventure, Danika, Oma and I are going to do the princess lunch so Danika can meet all her favorite girls! (She has a little princess set right now, it came with 7 of them, and heaven forbid we are missing one!)So we are pretty excited about that.

(So much for my quick update!)
