But it is fun!
This past weekend was very busy for us. Late last week, we enjoyed some Christmas fun at the zoo lights with Lindsay and Matthew. It was a cold night, and Danika wasn't feeling 100% still, so we didn't stay long, but enjoyed the time we got to spend there.
Friday night we were out in Airdrie for Brett's works Christmas party. It was a night filled with friends and fun. The company is really small, and we are close friends with all the "co-workers", all of our kids are the same ages, so we do many things together, and this was one of them. Bryce showed everyone how he could put whole marshmallows in his mouth (I think he is just coming down from that sugar high!), Danika did good playing with the other kids, considering she still wasn't herself. They both did amazing, lasting until 10pm, with no naps!
Saturday had us on the road up North again, this time to Red Deer to Brett's Uncle Lou and Auntie Donna's house. It is so nice to get up there, they have an amazing view of the snow covered countryside, is it gorgeous! Brett did some sledding, we all did some visiting. We had an amazing dinner, then had to head back home.
Sunday, was my families turn! We went for Brunch with Grandpa and Marion, and my cousin- who I haven't seen since Danika was 10 months old. Sam and her family- her husband Josh, and their new baby boy Ben- he is 6 months old now, and such a cutie! They flew in from a snowy Ontario! They flew to Calgary, to see some friends, and family, then headed up to Edmonton to spend Christmas with my other cousin and their family. It was a great visit, wish it could have been longer. It was great to catch up with Sam and Josh, and meet Ben. It was also nice to have some time to visit with Grandpa and Marion before they head out on their next vacation!
After brunch we did a few errands, and came home. We got to talking, and I got to looking, and well...we rescued a kitten. I have always had 2 cats, and felt that Gabby could use a friend. So, my last Christmas present joined us Sunday night. When I say rescued, well, we found her on kijiji, the guy that had the ad up told me that he had found her a while ago outside in the cold by the dumpster. He brought her in, but now has to move. When Brett went to pick her up- well, we were rescuing her! Apparently, not a great place for any"thing" to be living! So, now we have our two cats. They are not getting along 100% right now, but will be great friends! Dexi is our new Tabby, she is about 3 months old- best guess! She was shy at first, but I went to her today, and she came upstairs with me. She played with the kids, Bryce thinks she is so funny- they play with the mouse together! She is a great addition to our family!
After a great, and busy weekend, today I got some grocery shopping done for our Christmas Day lunch, and our New Years night. Now I really have nothing else that I HAVE to do for the next two weeks- YAY!!!
Here are a few pictures from our busy weekend...
