Easter

Yes, two posts at once- I posted the other and then realized that I hadn't put anything in about Easter this year.

We had a very busy weekend. It was a great weekend, and we had lots of fun, and visited many people.

Saturday morning started early. We went to Andrea's house for an Easter Egg hunt. Thankfully the Easter Bunny had left us a note asking if he could drop the stuff off a day early because he was also really busy! So, at 8am, we arrived at Andrea and Dale's house and the kids immediately went to work. There were eggs on the main floor and the basement. After all the eggs were found (or we think they were!), the kids were surprised by the pantry with baskets from the Easter Bunny.

They were so excited to see everything that he had brought them. They got a movie, an egg that you put in water and a chick hatches out of it (took 2 days but it was so worth it!), candy, chocolate, bubbles, a stretchy bunny, and lubies (and I think that is it!). After that chaos was over, we had brunch, the kids played and the adults visited.

Once we were done there, I dropped Brett in Beddington and he ran home. While he was doing that, we met up with my dad for lunch. And had a good visit with him, before realizing that Brett would almost be home, and didn't have a house key. So, we left and drove across the city to make it home before him- which we did- by only 15 minutes!

After that, we got ready to head out to Strathmore for Brett's Grandma's 85th birthday. We had a great visit with everyone out there, it had been a long time since we had seen everyone. The kids had fun playing with their cousins, Danika didn't want to leave, her and one of her cousins were hiding under blankets when it was time to go.

We made it home by about 10, and then we were up early on Sunday so we could head to Sherwood Park for Easter dinner with Brett's mom's side of the family. We arrived at about 12:30 and helped get things ready, visited and played! We had another amazing dinner, and great visit with that side of the family, and then were back on the road at 6:30. We had the kids in their PJ's, and thought they would fall asleep- it is a 4 hour drive. But- no such luck. They were awake the whole way home. So, we were all in bed at 10:30 Sunday night. (and back up early because Danika had school on Monday and I was volunteering!)

We hope you all had a great Easter as well!

Now on to eating some of this chocolate and candy!
