For my 30th birthday, Brett bought ME a special gift. I was so tired of my crappy laptop, so, he got me an iPad. Although I love it, there are some things I want that it doesn't have- but, that is besides the point.
The other day I was looking at the apps on it. Things like ABC tracer, talking Tom, toy story and Winnie the pooh stories. I also have one that makes animal sounds that Bryce loves, and Danika's favorite- Barbie I can be. I also have angry birds- which honestly was for me, but I finished it, so now it is played mainly by Matthew.
The iPad is always a source of entertainment when I need to get something done. It is also an amazing learning tool for the kids. I can't lie, Danika knows all of her letters, and how to write them, but I didn't teach her. I mean I was trying, I helped her when we were practicing on paper, but I have ABC tracer to thank for that. I also have YouTube to thank for the continuous singing of "Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer". I have the YouTube app full of songs/videos for them- basically seasonal, but she won't let me get rid of the Rudolph one! She now sings it herself- all Day!
Today I realized it really is "for the kids"- I came back from the hospital and the screen is sticky! I always said I would never buy a tv, computer, etc just for the kids, so, especially at 3.5 and 22 months- I will still use it at every chance I get, because I will NOT admit to having an iPad for the kids!
