He's learning, and fast!

Brett and I were a bit worried about Bryce. Not in any serious way- but just in how much slower he was learning things than Danika did at his age. By this age (he is almost 14 months), she was walking, talking, etc. But Bryce was only really saying a couple words, and we weren't sure if he even knew how to use some of them. But just this week he has surprised us. Here are some of the things he has done just this week
- he started to wave. Out of the blue one day I said "good night" and he waved back at me!
- he showed us he understands what we are saying to him. Brett said "good-bye" to him, and he went to the stairs. Brett said "No, not night night, Good-bye" He then crawled over to the front door, grabbed Bretts sandal and threw it at him! Then another day, he picked up one of Danika's million stickers- and before he put it in his mouth- I said, "Bring that to mommy" and he crawled all the way across the living room, and gave it to me- I was in shock.
- he also started giving kisses. Which I love! He kind of just leans into you to get one, but last night he opened his mouth and leaned towards me.
- And, when I sing pat-a-cake to him, I pat his belly for the pat it part. Now he pats his belly for the part, and claps his hands for the rest. When we were doing this the other day, he was wearing a shirt that he got for his birthday, it has a wombat on it, and the wombat is fuzzy (I didn't know this)- when I felt it, I said "oh, soft" then held his finger and let him touch it. When I let go, he grabbed my finger and put it on there, so I could feel it.

He is growing so fast, even though his baby stage has lasted longer than Danika's did for sure- which is nice, because I missed some of it. But now that he has started doing some of these things, it is like something new happens each day. He loves attention and making people laugh- so each time he does something new, we clap, say "YAY" and seem truly entertained (which we are), this he likes, so he continues to do it- expecting you to clap and do all of that each time. He is such a ham!

Oh- and just because I am a proud mom- the other day he was sort of hitting Danika on the back, we told him to be gentle, so he started rubbing her back- then giving her hugs. Of course we reacted in a good way- we were so proud. So that got both the little show offs going, they were hugging each other for a good 10 minutes after that. Unfortunately Brett used up the battery in my camera and didn't plug it in, so we have nothing but the memory for that one! But it was cute!
