Let me start with a quick update...
Monday- March 30, I decided to go into Labour and delivery, due to having some dizziness and light headedness over the weekend. It just didn't seem to go away- and when I was at the dr last week they said my blood pressure was going up a bit. So to rule out any scary pregnancy things- we decided to go in. We dropped Danika with Grandma and Grandpa- and headed to the hospital. While on our way I felt some pains- and shrugged them off (I had been feeling them for a while- just thought they were Braxton hicks contractions, or I got up to fast etc.).
We got to the hospital and checked in. We had to wait for a room- but after about half hour- they decided that not many people were leaving the triage room- so they put us in an empty labour room. They checked my blood pressure- which was up a bit- but nothing they were concerned with. Then they put me on the monitor. The nurse told me they like to watch for about 20 minutes. Bryce was kicking the monitor off and being a pain- but they got it settled, and we waited.
About 20 minutes later a intern came in- turns out I worked with HIM (yes HIM) at IGA years ago (talk about embarrassing because I knew they may check things- well down there), thankfully he was just the intern though- and wouldn't be doing any of that. He asked me some questions and then they looked at the print out from the monitor. He was happy with it- so they took me off the monitor, and told us to just wait until they talked to the dr. Brett and I were relieved, and thought we would be going home soon (we hadn't eaten either).
Then the nurse came back in and said that the dr would be awhile- so they were just going to hook me back up to the machine. We said fine- then when she left we were wondering why she needed to hook me back up- just because the dr was going to be a while. That is when I got nervous.
The intern came back in and told me that he thought I had a viral inner ear infection- and that is what was causing the dizziness. That there was nothing pregnancy related to that that was wrong. Then they looked at the print out from the monitor again- I noticed that she wasn't looking at the top line (Bryce's heart rate)- but the bottom- which we had NO idea what it was measuring. Then I started to notice those cramps again- when the other number on the machine went up. That is when I knew- that is a contraction- not just a cramp!
I asked the nurse- and sure enough- I was right- I was having contractions- 4 minutes apart. And they were getting stronger. The dr finally came in- told me I was having contractions- so I couldn't leave. That we may be having Bryce that night! And confirmed that my dizziness was probably an ear infection. She got called away before she could check me. So Brett and I sat there freaking out.
The contractions got stronger, and closer together. I think the closest one was about a minute apart. When the dr came back she checked me and I was still closed up. So that was good. But I had to stay until the contractions stopped. About 2 hours later- after going to the bathroom, drinking a ton, and having a nap- they stopped. The dr checked me again- and said I was still closed- so they could let me go.
She told me to talk to my dr this week, and see if he wants to move the c-section up. To relax, and that after 34 weeks they will do nothing to stop the labour- and we will have the c-section.
Leading me to APRIL---
I woke up yesterday thinking it is APRIL- next month we will have our little boy. It starting to freak me out about what we still have to do. I organized some things in Bryces room- filled up the diaper container- and freaked out at how small they are. With Danika they were cute- but this time around- they are scary- if you know what I mean. We are used to a toddler now! I started my list of things we have to do before he gets here etc.
But this morning- it really got me. I am 33 weeks today- that means- if my dr keeps my c-section date we have 6 more weeks- wow time flies! If he changes it- we could have as little as 5 weeks! AND- like the doctor said- if Bryce decides to come out early- they wont stop labour as of NEXT week! So we are thinking that we have anywhere from 1-6 weeks left! That really got me! Soon we will be holding our little boy!
