"A baby slows you down"

YEAH RIGHT!!!

Brett and I were always busy, always out doing something. From day trips to anywhere, to doing renos around the house- our weekends were always full- along with most week nights. We did slow down a bit while I was pregnant- because I didn't move very fast- and got tired easy. Everyone told us that we should get used to staying at home and not doing much- because once Danika got here it would be very hard to get out of the house.

Well for everyone who told us that- we wish you were right. We have not slowed down. In fact now I think that we are busier than ever. We are still doing renos (and trying our hardest to get them done this weekend), we still go out to visit friends and family, we still go to the fish stores and shopping, out for dinner, and just out to do nothing. But now- we have Danika tagging along with us. She didn't slow us down- she just made us have to carry more stuff when we do go out.

We realized this last night (well maybe before- but we talked about it last night) while we were walking into Grahams building. It took us about 5 minutes to get out of the car- Brett handed me the diaper bag (which weighs a ton with diapers, bottles, blankets and extra clothes), handed me her coat and the other blanket she had over her. Then my hands were full. He then pulled out Danika's car seat (which she was in). He hasn't had to lift her in her car seat much this week (it was a renos week), he then realized how heavy she is getting. While we were walking up to the door- we looked at each other and laughed. Having her didn't slow us down- it is just giving us stronger arms!

We were looking forward to slowing down- or we thought we were. We love having our same life, doing the things we like to do- and sharing them with our daughter. Maybe when she is older we will have to slow down- but for now, we are loving every minute of showing her off to the world!

Update- Danika turned 7 weeks on Wednesday- it is hard to believe!
We are trying to get renos done this weekend- so we can put the house up for sale soon- so if anyone knows anyone who wants a newly renovated 4 level split house- let them know to get in contact with us!
