It's A......

Well after waiting FOREVER for last friday to get here, then waiting forever in the waiting room. We finally got in for our ultrasound. Then we waited again. I had read that you aren't supposed to ask them what the sex is- so I told brett to look for 3 lines, or 3 legs! I preped him before we even entered the room, and reviewed on the walk down the hall. Then as soon as we got into the room I blurt out "I know we aren't supposed to ask, but if you can tell the sex, we would really like to know!" No pressure or anything! So then I lay, on the table with jelly all over my belly. I lay there for about an hour, then the tech says she is going to get the head lady, because the baby isn't cooperating for some of the pictures they need to get! So in comes the second lady, she tries for about 15 minutes, nothing. So they get me to go to the washroom and empty 2 cups of pee (again, do not drink from the cups at the ultrasound/xray places). So back in the room I go, lay back down- they try again for about 15 minutes- but my bladder fills up again, so I have to go empty another 2 cups- who knew I had that much! So then I go back and lay down again- they put more jelly on my belly and try again. At this point I am fairly sure the baby will not cooperate and show us what "it" is. Then the tech tells the head lady that we would like to know if possible! So after finally getting the baby to cooperate for the pictures she needed, she poked and proded some more, and told us that she didn't think the baby wanted us to know- just as she said that she tried on more time- TADA!!!!!
As I looked over I knew- but waited for her to say it- "I am pretty sure it is a.....
GIRL" and then she proceded to tell us the usual- we can't tell 100%- they do that for safety and legal reasons- we read about that before!
But all I needed to see was the 3 lines!!! I am so happy that I got to see them too- and wasn't just told!
Brett was a bit unsure at first- but it has all settled in. We went shopping right after, and bought some clothes, a hello kitty (that Brett made at build-a-bear), and a ocean wonders travel swing- so cool!
We had the families over on Saturday (my dad, stepmom, and sister, bretts mom and dad, brother, sister, and nephew). All of them thought the baby was a boy- so we were very excited to tell them they were wrong! We got the whole thing on tape- it was so much fun. We made a gift for the baby for each of the "Grandparents" with clues about the sex- they all thought boy until the pink dress came out! My dad is still stuck on it being a boy though!
We called my mom right after the ultrasound- because she left for Mexico on Saturday morning. As soon as I called I said, "well it took 2 hours, but..." and she said- "its a boy"- even though we both thought girl. So I said "nope, we were right!" She seemed pretty happy!

Now I am trying to convince Brett that we need some 3D images of the baby, along with a video- you can pay to do this- but he is creeped out by the whole thing (3d). So I don't know if we will do that or not- but would be cool!

Anyway- now that you all know- her name will be Danika Grace Hendricks! It changed many times- but that is her name, we have already started calling her that!
(and for those of you who were guessing- the boys name we had picked out was Jayce Michael Hendricks)

Happy Monday everyone!
