wish me luck!

Tomorrow we are going to do something that we haven't done in awhile. Something that I wasn't sure I would be doing this soon, something I wasn't sure I would be doing for a LONG time.

Tomorrow we are going on a plane to see my mom. Yes, the beginning of the blog made it sound like we were doing something a little scarier. BUT- when I say "we" I mean, me, with both the kids!

Brett will be staying home, enjoying his much deserved peace and quiet. I am not sure what he is going to do, he says probably just work, but I hope (and know he will) take some time for him. I should probably call all the fish stores and tell them to kick him out if he shows up! LOL!

The kids and I, well we will be heading out to White Rock to spend some time with my mom. I do say wish me luck, but I am really not that worried. Getting to the airport, well Brett is taking us, so he will help us in, and stay with us until we go through security like he always does- then his party begins! I will get through security and then get us a "breakfast" for the plane. Once we get to BC, mom will be there waiting (if she isn't at the airport already waiting for us!). She will steal my kids right away, and enjoy dealing with them for the next week!

On the plane, well, Danika is a seasoned flier. Since she was born she has flown to BC 6 or 7 times, and to California once. So she has been on her share of planes. Honestly I don't think I flew that much before I had her! Bryce, well that may be a different story. He has been on the plane, once. We flew to BC to see mom (just the three of us again) when he was about 4 months old. But at that time, he couldn't move around or make much noise, so we will see what he does. He doesn't like sitting still. But luckily the airline we are flying with has tvs in the seats, and it is only an hour long flight! I have a bag packed with books, snacks and toys. And I am sure since we have to get up early, he may just fall asleep, we shall see! He does also like to flirt- so maybe if I let him stand on my legs he can just flirt with people around us!

Not sure what we are doing once we get there. We HAVE to go to Chicken Bobs for dinner- it is sort of tradition, we usually come in on Thursday, and they have a live jazz band- Danika loves it. They also created a kids menu, on behalf of Danika! So, that is one thing we will do. We are also having a BBQ at a family friends house on Saturday- mainly so I can see everyone at once, and thank them all for being so supportive! I am also getting together with a friend or two that have since moved out there, that I haven't seen in awhile. So that will be nice.

Mom has looked up some things for us to do, like bear creek park (they have a train), a water slide place, a few other things, and just going to the beach. Mom got umbrellas, chairs, toys, etc. I think she has us all ready- now we just have to figure out how to get all the stuff, to the beach part, from the parking lot, with the two kids..... (that story is to be continued for sure!)

So, that is where I will be for the next week. Hopefully getting some rest, but obviously not as much as Brett!

Now, to finish packing and get ready- I can't wait!!!!
