Our Holidays

Yes 2 posts in one day! I have the chance to write right now- and I am going too!

So Brett and I took this week off. We were originally going to drive to BC to spend time with my mom and Aunt. But Danika and I went there at the beginning of June, and mom came here for Danika's birthday- and we leave in 2 weeks for Disneyland with mom. So we decided to stay home and do nothing!

Well- nothing has not gotten done! We have been so busy- I can't believe it is Friday already.

Sunday- we went to the zoo with Mom, Grandpa and Marion- and all had a blast. It was so much fun. Danika was very well behaved- and always enjoys the zoo. We went to Ryans for a BBQ after the zoo, and enjoyed a visit there too!

Monday- Mom and I went to Costco to print some pictures. We walked around there, and then headed to Wal-mart to get some things I needed to pick up. then home to put Danika down for a nap, so we could have dinner with everyone later. We had originally wanted to go for Vietnamese food- but when we got there they were closed. So we went to Moxies- the wait was forever- so we ended up at Milestones. They had a booth big enough for all of us. We all had another great visit and a wonderful dinner. Taylor and Danika were so well behaved. After dinner we said good-bye to mom- and Grandpa and Marion drove her to the airport! Thanks again for coming out Mom!

Tuesday- we FINALLY got to take Danika swimming. We went to Southland- which is open now! they did a great job fixing it up. We had a great time!

Wednesday- We did some running around- and had everything done by 2- then we were bored!

Thursday- We went and got Danika's hair cut (she is now a toddler- not a baby), and went to Riley park for some fun. Then Bretts parents came over for dinner- and we had a great visit with them.

Today- well I have some time to myself, I am going to clean up while Danika naps, and then her and I are going to see her Grandma, Grandpa and Auntie Holly- they leave for a 3 week tour of the US tomorrow- so I am sure they will go through Danika with drawl. I am sure that is the longest time they have gone without seeing her since she was born!

Also this week- Danika had her shots on Monday. We declined the chicken pox shot- but she got the other one. She didn't even cry, whine, flinch- NOTHING! We were preparing for the worst. We had food, soother, baby, other toys and drinks- but she didn't need anything- she was so good. They weighed her and measured her there too- she is 25 pounds and 30.2 inches tall. We didn't believe the height thing- but knew she had a Dr appt on Wednesday- with her actual doctor- so we thought we would see what they got. They got the exact same thing.

Danika went from 8 pounds 2 ounces at birth to 25 pounds at a year! She gained just about 17 pounds this year! And she was 21 inches when she was born (well just over) and is now 30.2- so she has grown 9.2 inches! She is getting to be a big girl!
