23 days and counting!

Wow what a busy weekend. For two people who were going to do nothing- we sure did a lot!

Saturday we had to clean the church- then we stopped for Breakfast. While at Breakfast we decided to go look at showhomes (I know you are thinking I already posted this- it must be something about humptys that makes us want to look at show homes!). We were looking for design ideas etc. Not to buy a different house! We looked at some very nice mansions (chappala point)- WOW! Then we got back to reality and looked at others like ours. Very nice- we still like ours the best! While we were out looking at showhomes- Trevor and Martine called to see when they could pick up Brody. So we went home to give him a bath and get all of his stuff ready. I said good-bye to him and stayed in our room until they picked him up- I just couldn't watch him walk away! Hard enough to give your dog away- harder with Pregnancy hormones! So he is gone now- and he went out with a bang- got his head stuck in the plastic fence friday (Brett had to cut him out), and then as he was leaving he peed in their car- they didn't mind to much though (I think they are crazy- but what ever- we wish them the best of luck). They have promised to send pictures etc. So that is good!

After he left we went to Bondars- we found a couch we loved at a show home- and of course that is where it was from. So we thought just to waste some time we would go and look. We didn't find that couch- but did find a nice set for a great price. We will get to pick the fabric- it comes with pillows, and is so comfy! We will get the couch, chair, and over sized ottoman for under $3000- we didn't think that was bad- but decided to look at some other places on Sunday- just in case. So we came home and went to the neighbours to visit for awhile!

Sunday- we got up and headed to the Brick- yeah right- even if we found something there that we did like- we wouldn't buy from them. We had people stalking us- it was a horrible experience. Like we were teenagers in a 7-11 trying to steal something. Once the 50th person asked if we needed help- I finally said that we were looking for today- not buying anything. And you know- no one even looked at us after that! We did see a nice set- not as comfy- and for the same price, so we were feeling confident that we had picked a good one at Bondars. Then we went to Leons. They do the same thing- and it is annoying. Plus they had nothing there for a good price- or that looked nice! While waiting for Bondars to open we went into the Simmons sleep centre. There was a guy there who helped us- and he did a great job. Of course Brett and I have never bought a mattress before. So he asked us all sorts of questions. And they were having a sale. After he found out what type of bed we were looking for he explained that we didn't need a box spring- so the bed would be cheaper- that is always good news. We did find a very nice one- the bowling ball bed- and they were having a great sale. So we decided to keep it in mind and look at the bedroom stuff we wanted again. So we went over to IKEA. After looking at it- we did still like it, but decided to keep it in mind. It is pretty expensive for being from IKEA- and we knew we would have to replace it in a couple years. So we went back to Bondars to have a look at the couch again and make sure it was the right one. We love the service there too! It was great- seriously- I know it sounds expensive- but if you are thinking of new furniture- it is worth the trip there! We love the couch- and decided that is the one. (Our sales lady wasn't working yesterday- but they offered to help, and she would still get the sale- that is the way they work, so there is no stealing of customers- very nice). But we wanted to talk with her again, so we will go back later. We looked around, since we had more time yesterday. And we actually found a bed that we really liked. On the cheaper side of things- but great quality- and not IKEA. It is full leather- black- so it will go with anything. So we are going to discuss that with her too when we go back. We were happy with our choices and decided to go back and put the deposit down on the mattress- since it was on sale. So we picked the softness etc. It is a pillow top too! And with the sale, since we paid the 10% down, we get the sale price when we pick it up (or have it delivered), and they will wait until we get in our new house. Oh- did I mention it is a king size- that is why we need to wait, and need a new bed to go with it! So we ended up getting the pillow top mattress for just under $1200. Like I said we don't know a thing about buying a mattress- but think that is a great deal. The guy even showed us how much they are this week at other places. It is guaranteed for 10 year too! And when we were at IKEA- they sell their mattresses for $700 (and who would buy an IKEA mattress!). So we are pretty happy with our choices! Can't wait to see them in the new place.

When we got home we sat around, did our Fathers day calls, and then Brett painted, and I cleaned. We got quite a bit done- it is looking great in here. Then we watched Indiana Jones!

That was our weekend- A couple more like that and I will be loving the rest when Danika gets here! 23 more days today! We can't wait!
