Getting closer to Christmas

Wow, I can't believe that it has been 2 weeks since I last posted something! We have been so busy!

Brett and I had a double date with my Dad and Kat on the 30th of November. We went out to Jubilations dinner theatre to see "Ghostbusted". It was GREAT. We were all very impressed. On this night, Danika and Bryce stayed with Oma and Papa and also had a great night!

We have also had Danika's conference at her school. This one was student lead, so she had to show us what she does in kindergarten! She was very proud to show us everything she has done! We did get to talk to her teacher, and she is doing amazing. They have a different way of reporting- instead of report cards for the first bit of school. It is based on development, to help her learning in the future. I am proud to report that the only one concern her teacher had was in her gross motor development- basically in gym. But, I was never big on gym time, and we are not worried because we know she does do things. We are going to try to get her in t-ball or soccer this year to improve on this.

While we were at the conference, Bryce was making a craft- and wrote his name BY HIMSELF! The letters are in no particular order, and they are all over the page- but he did them all! I was very proud of him as well!

We also have been to go and see Santa! I was still not feeling well, and standing in line for 2 hours to get that picture, and have the kids see Santa- well, I have to say that it was worth it! Bryce is understanding the whole Christmas thing this year, and was very excited to see Santa! Bryce is still asking Santa for a 40-40 race track (we aren't sure where the 40-40 came from, but okay!). He is also asking for a nerf gun. Danika on the other hand, keeps switching what she wants. She has told us that she was asking Santa for a unicorn, because he is the only one that can do that. And, amongst the list of changing things was a "surprise" gift, mainly because she can't decide. Little does she know, she played into our plan well.

The kids don't know, but on Christmas day, we will be getting a message from Santa in the afternoon. He will be letting us know that he missed the surprise gift (she will be getting something from him earlier too, so she wont actually be missed!). The message will say that he is going to put the surprise gift on the airplane because the reindeer are tired! At 11pm, we will be at the airport to pick up my mom! (If you see the kids before then, PLEASE make sure that you don't mention Grandma coming to see them- they really do have NO IDEA!)

This past weekend we had a bake exchange at the house. It was so much fun. Everyone got to visit, and go home with a variety of great baking!

And of course, George is up to his tricks. We have found him in many locations! He has brought kinder eggs, and this morning we found him with a note explaining that he will also be bringing a new book each morning from now until Christmas- that he will hide, so they have to find him, and the book! The kids LOVE finding him in all his new spots!

(Pictures will be coming later! I have to make a slideshow with everything now, so they will be added later, I am off to bed now, after a fun and long weekend!)
