5 years ago today...

Our wonderful, beautiful, amazing little girl was born. Danika was born on Wednesday July 11 2007 at 4:16pm- what an amazing moment. Now here we are Wednesday July 11 2012- and she is 5! She has made our lives more amazing then we ever thought!

I really can't believe that you are 5. Time has flown by! You have done so many things already in life, and I hope that you continue to do all the things you love to do, and see. In 5 years you have been an avid traveller- starting your traveling life when you were only 2 months old going out to BC to visit with Grandma and other family out there. You have since been too many times too count now! You have also been to Disneyland 3 times, and Jamaica! We have driven to Edmonton, and down into the US when visiting Grandma. If I wasn't with you for all these trips, you would have travelled more than me!

In 5 years, you have invited many friends into your family, from near and far. You have your slurpee friends- who we have only met one of in person- but you know all of their faces when you see them on the computer, or in pictures! You have friends close to you, and you make friends every time we are out!

Your imagination is endless. You make up stories, play, and dance all the time. You like to help do almost every chore imaginable. And you love to make us laugh! You can play by yourself for hours! (and often do not want to be interrupted!) But, you are always there for a hug or a cuddle!

You love your little brother more than I could have imagined! You do fight, but you love to make him laugh, and get him interested in many different things- as well as get him in trouble! He loves you and looks up to you! I love watching the two of you interact!

This September, you will be starting kindergarten. I can't believe it. I can't wait for you to enjoy school- I know you will! You love to learn new things, and always have. You have some learning books and want to do them all the time! I am excited for you, but also believe you are growing up too fast. When I look at you, I think of my mom, your grandma, and know that she went through all of this too- now I am grown, with kids, and WOW- how she must feel!

You have taught me so much, and know you will teach me more. But, I want you to remember you are a smart, beautiful, funny little girl! Reach for your dreams, and then some, because I know that you can achieve what ever you want! Become who you want! I know you will, because if the past 5 years are any indication, you will do what you want, when you want to do it! (It is a great quality!)
