Brett went and got the bed, and started to put it together. While he was out getting the bed, I started in Danika's room. She has been wanting to play in there by herself more and more. And she wanted to listen to her music, and be able to turn her light on and off when needed. (Our bedrooms do not have ceiling mounted lights- so they have lamps). Her CD player and lamp was up on her shelf. So, I decided to put it down so she could reach it. We also talked about her barbie house, and that she still plays with it, but likes her other stuff better right now. So, it is at the end of her bed, and will move down to the playroom when Brett finishes that (he worked on that today). With some help from a 4.5 year old and a 2.5 year old- I moved furniture and organized Danika's room! (we had to clean it first, then move things, then clean again!). I wish I took before pictures- but, just trust me- EVERY toy she has in her room was out on the floor! And, I couldn't even get after pictures without toys, because by the time I got my camera, they were out again!
Once Brett came home with the bed, he started on that. And, I lost my helpers and he gained them! While they were doing that, I was able to clean up the rest of upstairs, put laundry away etc. They got the bed done around 4:30, but we still had the shelf etc to do. We were exhausted and were going to visit some friends at 7, so we called it a day!
This morning, we started again right away. Brett put the shelf together, and then left us to go work on the basement! We put everything away in Bryce's room, and then we have been cleaning the rest of the house. It was a busy day. But, we are all happy with the clean and organized outcome!
I was able to get pictures of Bryce's room before they went in and played.
The side of his room. His chair by his books, and his hot wheels wall track- he LOVES that thing, and now we might have some room to expand it!
His Hockey bed. I had to convince him that he didn't want Lightning McQueen. That is what he had, and I was trying to find something that I wouldn't have to replace in a year or two. Then he saw the hockey one, and all was well! (and yes, he has other stuffed animals- but ONLY his monkeys, and Sprinkles (his build a bear) were allowed on the bed)
Since it was sunday, and we had so much to do around the house, it definitely was a PJ/slow cooker sunday! I am trying to eat a little better (well we all are), so I found a recipe for pulled BBQ chicken sandwiches. And it was very good. I changed it a bit, because we only had half a bottle of BBQ sauce. So, it could be more BBQy, but it was very good. I put frozen chicken breast in the crock pot, added half a bottle of BBQ sauce, some ketchup (no, I wasn't measuring), and then thought that it needed a bit of liquid so they could be saucier, so I added some diet pepsi. They were very good. The kids and Brett had them with smilie face fries and beans, and I had them with baked zucchini! It was so good!
I also wanted to update about my phlebotomy. I was SO nervous going in this time, because last time didn't go so well. But, this one was fine, just like my first. I think with the last one, I had a nurse who was new, she hadn't done many and said she wasn't sure. (to the other nurse, but I was right there). I don't like needles or my own blood, so I freaked. I was okay through it, but the way she did it, it hurt more than usual, and after she was done, I saw the needle etc. And got VERY light headed- they wouldn't even let me walk back downstairs, they took me in a wheel chair! BUT, this time, the nurse I had was great. I barely felt anything, and after I was fine! I have to go for another on February 23rd- and I am crossing my fingers that it is the last one. I have my 2 year appointments on March 5th, and I will find out then!
