This morning, the kids woke up to this...
George had put the tree up, so it was ready for us to decorate.
We started with the lights, the kids were helping Brett.
After he realized that he put them on backwards (wrong end), he had to start over, so the kids gave up. They watched TV while we finished with the lights and the garland.
Then, they helped us put the decorations on. We could definitely tell how tall Danika is- she had a line of ornaments going around the tree, so we explained that we have to put them all over the tree. She was actually happy to put them a bit higher, and lower! Bryce put his Lightning McQueen ornament on, and then went to watch tv!
Once the ornaments were on, we added some tinsel. I haven't used tinsel in YEARS, because we had cats. I forgot how much I do love it (I am sure I will take this back when it is time to take the tree down!)
Then Danika wanted to put the star on. So, Brett lifted her up, but the top branch is a thicker one, so he had to do it. But she was happy to have helped!
Then this afternoon, Brett took the kids to a friends house for a play date. I got to wrapping, and 4 hours later, with only about a 15 minute break to eat something, I was finished, and they were home. WOW is all I can say. That was a workout! But, it is done. All the major Christmas chores are done, and we can enjoy the season!
After I was done wrapping, and it was dark, I took this picture! The picture doesn't do the tree justice, I love it and think it turned out great!
Danika is already just sitting by the tree, you can just see the excitement in her face. I snuck up behind her and got this picture as she stared and talked, with so much excitement!
I think this might be the first year that we don't get to sleep in! I think she will be right into it this year, and Bryce will be right there following everything she does! I can't wait!
I also found these suckers while I was out. Danika is in LOVE with Rudolph. Anyone who knows her knows that she is all about anything rudolph! She can also sing the whole song, and started that last Christmas. So, when I saw these, I had to get them for them. Danika's is of course Rudolph and Bryce is the abdominal snow monster!
