I love Santa!

No, I don't mean I still believe, or that I really am a Christmas crazy! I do mean that around this time of year he is not only every child's favorite person, but every parents!

Danika is almost 3 and a half. She is a girl. She is a very independent girl. She is bossy, and knows what she wants, what she doesn't want, and when she does or does not want it!

This lately, has started some clashes. I have tried a few things, because I didn't want to play my Santa card to early. But today, today was the day!

This morning I explained to Danika that I got a special email. I told her that I got an email from Santa, and that he was letting all the moms and dads know that he has sent out his spy elves. I explained that they are all around watching, and we don't know when or where they are. If she is being naughty and they see, they tell Santa, then she would be on the naughty list. I also told her that if they see her doing something nice, they will let Santa know, and she will go on the nice list. I explained that you have to be on the nice list to get a present from Santa. I let her know too, that mommy and daddy are like Santa spies, we have his phone number and have to call him if she is naughty!

So far, she has not called our bluff! She is a very smart girl, but also has an imagination that goes to the moon and back! Today turned from bad to great. Every time she would start to go off track, we would say, "oh, should we call Santa?", immediately she changed! She played nice with Bryce, helped out, ate her dinner etc! It was great! I wish I could use this all year! See, I love this man!

I am also a mother of a smart 3.5 year old! I know this may ware thin by Christmas, but, I have a back up plan!

Back up plan:
I have a picture of Santa. I will color it, and attach a sign to it with a string. The sign will be two sided, one side will say "nice", the other, "naughty". I will tell her Santa sent it to us, and she has to change it if she is being naughty or nice. Then tell her at the end of the day we have to let Santa know what side it is on. Hopefully it doesn't come to that!

For now, I am happy for technology, because both myself, and Santa have cell phones, so we can call at any time, anywhere!
