Sing with me

Every night when I put Danika to be we do stories and then sing her three songs (the third was added this week). First we sing Twinkle Twinkle, then we sing the I love you song from Barney- and then 2 Little Monkeys.

Danika LOVES these three songs. I have been singing twinkle twinkle to her to calm her down and help her relax since she was born. When we go to bed she knows the order. She also sings them all day.

The other day I got two of them on video- of course, since she saw the camera she was being silly and not doing the whole song- but she can. I had to write about it- because the other day I saw her taking her "dolly" into her room- so I followed close behind her- she put her in her little bed beside Danika's bed- grabbed Dolly's Blanket and started singing to her- the three songs- in order!

Then last night we were out late at Brett's parents having dinner and visiting. We left there at 10pm- and got home shortly after- but both kids were FAST asleep in the truck. I even got Danika out of her seat without waking her up. I got her all the way to her room- in to her bed, took off her pants to put on her pull up. I got her pull up on, pants back on and her onto her pillow and covered her up- she did not wake up. I turned her night light on and she opened one eye a tiny bit, and said "twinkle twinkle". So I sang that song- getting very quiet at the end- thinking she was asleep. The the eye opened again and she said "I love you". So I sang that one- again getting quieter at the end. Again- her eye opened a tiny bit and she said "Two silly Monkeys" (which is what she calls it- and we only do 2 at bed time- not 5!). So I sang that song- and she was OUT!

It is so nice to know that they remember and love certain things you do!
