Back from Disney

We are back- and had a great time. Danika was a blast to watch. She thought everyone was there for her- she started walking while holding only one hand- so the other could be used to wave and blow kisses to everyone. She loved all the rides, and all the characters. She was a trooper- staying up late to watch shows and see fireworks. She did not want to sleep in her crib they provided- so she shared a bed with Mommy and Daddy- a double bed!

We arrived last Tuesday (aug 5th). We just went to the pool and for dinner then to bed. The pool there is great. There are water slides for the kids, and a little area where you can play with the water shooting up from the ground! They also had a bigger pool too- it was wonderful! We realized how early we had gone to bed when the fireworks started. They start at 9:25 every night. we were all asleep though- Brett woke up and grabbed my arm and said "What was that?!" When I told him it was the fireworks- we realized that we were in bed pretty early!

Wednesday we went to Disneyland. We headed right for Dumbo- because I heard it gets busy- which it does! We rode the carrosel with Danika, then Dumbo, and the tea cups- we then did the Storybook land boats- which were all great! Danika loved them all. She fell asleep after that- so we did the matterhorn, splash mountain and a couple adult rides while she napped. When she woke up we did a few more rides including the Tiki Tiki room- which was one of her favorites. And then we did Pirates- the ride was great- the did a wonderful job- but they do need to warn you that there are some fast corners, and a couple drops. I was terrified- because there were no seatbelts- and Brett was holding Danika! But she didn't mind- she loved it. After that we had dinner, and went for a swim. Then we went back and rode the train, and got off to watch Fantasmic- We had to stand for an hour before it started- and mom and I almost gave up. But Brett told us that it would be worth it- which it was. Danika had fallen asleep in my arms- but woke up for the show- which she loved too!

Thursday we took the bus to SeaWorld. It was pretty cool. We saw some fish, rode some rides, saw some shows. It was good. It was also very hot! We got one of our burgers stolen by a seagull- which we were warned about on the bus ride (Sea World replaces things stolen by the birds!). Danika got to meet Elmo and Zoe. Brett and I went on the Atlantis ride- which was a waste of time. But it was a good day! Danika really loved seeing the dolphins and the whales!

Friday we went over to California Adventure park. It was one of our favs too. Mom really liked Grizzly river run, Brett and I LOVE California Screamin- the roller coaster! Danika enjoyed Dots puddle park- she got to chase water around! Monsters Inc was great. Soarin over California is amazing! Brett liked the farris wheel- but I didn't! We got to see the Pixar Play parade- I think we all loved that one! We also stayed long enough to see the light parade which was great too! We spent the day there- Danika slept in her stroller, and enjoyed all the sights!

Saturday we had a free day. We swam, and went to Downtown disney. We did some shopping, and had dinner at the Rainforest Cafe- the atmosphere was great- the food was okay though. Then we did some swimming!

Sunday we went to Universal Studios- which was another favorite. We went on Shrek 4-D- which everyone loved- Even Danika. We met Shrek, Curious George, Dora and Diego and more. Brett and I rode Jurasic Park- and loved it. Mom didn't want to get to wet- so I finally convinced her she wouldn't get to wet- turns out- we got the front row- and were SOAKED! We did the backlot tour- which was so cool. We loved seeing all the scenes from the movies! Brett even got to see the Delorean that was used in Back to the future! We also went on the new Simpsons ride- which was pretty neat- the line was the best line ever though- they showed old Simpsons clips the whole time! We were also able to go see the Waterworld show- which was AMAZING! Danika loved watching it all. She really paid attention to the girl in the show! Our other highlight was watching Danika meet Dora and Diego. She said hi, got her picture taken- then when she was done, we put her in her stroller. She kept watching them while they were doing pictures with others. She kept waving and blowing kisses at them, so they kept waving and blowing kisses back and coming over to see her in her stroller. She LOVED that!

Monday was our last day there- so we made sure to get up early so we could go on the rides that we missed on our other days. We got to Disney at opening time and went on Indiana Jones (I had to close my eyes!), then we waited in line to see Nemo- which was great- we were all glad we did. Then we went on Space mountain- which was so fun! Then we headed over and did the Big thunder mountain railroad. Danika had fallen asleep after Nemo- so when we were done we headed back to California Adventure so she could play in Dots puddle park again, and we could ride the roller coaster a couple times. We went back to the hotel for a swim- because it was the hottest day of our trip, and we needed the pool! Then went for dinner, and went back to Disneyland to see the fireworks from the front of the castle! They were great- we had to wait awhile too. But worth it. They do such a good job!

All in all it was a great trip! Lots of sun, Lots of walking- but all worth it! We didn't spend too much money- Danika got a princess shirt, and a snowglobe from each place we went. Mom bought her a couple things too. I got a hoodie, and a t-shirt. Brett got a Bruce (the shark from Nemo) that talks. We had a blast- but are glad to be home!
