Disneyland

Yep we are going to Disneyland- in August. I can't wait.

I have never been, Brett went as a teenager- and remembers loving Sea World, and the pool at their hotel! My mom was there 31 years ago- and is sure many things have changed.

Brett and I decided with all this snow that we needed a holiday. So we talked it over and decided we would look into Disneyland. Yes- Danika is a bit young- but it is not a trip for her. We are still planning on going again- just for her- when she is about 5-7ish. This trip is for us. So we can ride the adult rides, and not have to worry about standing in line at all of the kiddie rides. (There are many that Danika can do- and we will do that too- but the trip is mainly for us)

We had thought about Mexico- but worried about Danika down there- with the diseases you can get, and getting around- with no seatbelts in cabs- it just seemed a bit scary for us. So this way- she will have fun, and be safe, and we will enjoy ourselves as well.

We are taking my mom with us. I have been begging her to take me there for my whole life- so it is nice to be able to take her with us. That way too, there will be 3 of us- so we can ride rides in pairs. She has also done many things for us in the past years- especially this past year. So we thought this would be a great way to thank her.

Disneyland has something called baby swap. Where if we are all wanting to go on a ride, we wait in line (although- they do have fast passes too!), and when we get to our turn- 1 person waits with Danika at the Exit- and the other 2 ride the ride. When it is done- one person gets off the ride- and watches Danika- while the other two do the ride- and you don't have to stand in line again! So that is good. They also have something called sleeping baby passes- where if the baby is sleeping- you don't wait in line- but I have just heard rumours about that- I have to find out more.

We will be staying at the Howard Johnson Hotel. It is a 7 minute walk from Disneyland- and has 2 pools- where you can see the fireworks from, as well as a "sprayground" for Danika to play in. The room is equipt with a fridge- so we can keep Danika's milk- which we can buy from their gift shop! It sounds like a great hotel!

While there we will be doing 3 days at Disneyland/California adventure, a day trip to Sea World, another day at the San Diego Zoo, and a day at Universal Studios. I am so excited for all of them- Brett is excited about Sea World, Mom can't wait for Universal Studios. So it will be a good trip for all.

I have done some reading- and there is LOTS for Danika to do- she will be 13 months! I will be taking her on the Dumbo ride- the 1st time for both of us. At Disneyland, she will be excited to see Nemo, in California adventure- we will visit Ariel with her. Sea World has fish- which she loves- and ELMO- who is her FAVORITE right now! And Universal Studios has Dora- who she loves too! So she will get something- oh and the zoo- well she is an Animal lover!

I was so excited when thinking about the trip- then once it was booked I became emotional. (in a good way). Not only do I get to share this trip with Brett- but also my mom, AND my little girl! I couldn't ask for a better trip there! It will be one of my firsts, and I get to share them with my little girls firsts. I was excited about the rides, and what I will see- then I thought about it- and all the things Danika can do and see- and how excited she will be. That got to me- now I am twice- maybe even three times excited!

I can't wait. We will be taking the camera, video camera, and a computer- to dump the pictures on- the hotel has wireless- for $10 per day- so I am not sure if pictures will get uploaded then- you might have to wait until we get back- but one thing is for sure- there will be LOTS!!!!

Only 106 more days to go!!!!!
