Last post before Danika Arrives!

Like the title says- this will be my last post before Danika arrives. It is monday morning- and we go in to have her on Wednesday. The c-section will be at noon (if they are on time). We have to go to the hospital, get a parking pass, admit me and then head up to the floor for 10:30. So we will be leaving the house by 9ish. This is one thing even Brett has said we better get up early for- so we are not late! I found that entertaining- because it is usually me trying to rush him out the door for things. Not like I wont be rushing out the door- but it was cute that he thought we should be too!

We are getting a bit nervous- but not about the surgery- just what happens after, and the recovery. I am sure it will all go good- we are just the type of people who want to know what is going to happen. I am hoping to get out of the hospital at the latest Friday morning. They did say that as soon as I felt good enough to go home they would release us- as long as we are both healthy. I am sure Danika is- at our last doctors appointment on Friday he measured her and said she is growing really well- I said that I think she will be around 8 pounds- and he laughed. He is thinking more like 8 and a half- well his exact words were- "She will be 8 and a half- EASY!" Brett and I said that all day after we left there!

So here is how the day will happen- as we were told- We will get to the hospital for 10- go to admitting and do all of that- since we are having a scheduled c-section and had the meeting most of the paper work is done. Then we will head upstairs where they will do my blood work, and get the IVs in. They will answer any of our questions- as if you have any at that time- you just want it to be over and be holding your baby! Then at noon we will head to the operating room. Brett will wait outside in a side room- in a wheel chair. I will go in and sit on the table- arch my back and get my spinal! Then they will lay me on the table- and start prepping my belly- as they do that they will bring Brett in. He will be in the wheel chair. It should take them about 5 minutes to get Danika out. They will hold her over the curtain for us to see- and then take her to clean her up (in the same room). The doctor will stitch me up- and then we will be wheeled into the recovery room. They have told us that in the recovery room we can cuddle her, or breastfeed- which ever we want. We will be in there for at least an hour. After that we will be checked out and then sent to post partum. We are hoping to get a private room- but it is very unlikely. At this point Brett will make the phone calls to our parents and siblings- we would love to call everyone- but we would like the time with our new daughter- no offense!

We really can't wait to see her- and can't wait to introduce her to everyone. There will be pictures on our photo site as soon as possible. I will be home with her on Friday- but Brett and I are taking some time alone with her. Saturday we will have family over, and Sunday we are having a shower for her. Starting Sunday night my mom will be here with us- so we may have time to answer emails and phone calls- but probably not before that. Thank you for understanding.

Wish us luck on Wednesday!

In other news- I am sitting right now waiting for the carpet guys to get here and put our carpet in on the third level. Brett finished most of the painting down there this weekend- and got some baseboards painted. So we are almost done the renos- it is looking really good!

Well I am off to finish cleaning the house. We will talk to you all very soon
