NOT HUGE!!!!!

After listening to everyone over the past month, I had decided that maybe I have gained to much during this pregnancy. I have never been pregnant before- so I didn't know. I was looking forward to having the belly that everyone could look at and know that there was a baby in there. But apparently people forget there is a baby in there! I have listened to everyone- from friends and family, to complete strangers tell me that I am "Huge"- why that is the choice word, I don't know- but it is! So after almost a full month of "I can't believe you are that big" " you are huge" and "how big will you be at 9 months", I finally got the answer I was looking for. I had a doctors appointment yesterday. It was with the doctor that is basically my doctor for the cyst- but he also watches the pregnancy to make sure it is progressing properly, and making sure the cyst isn't causing it any trouble! So I get there- not knowing what to expect from him this time, since I haven't had an ultrasound since last time I saw him- but they said it was important to still see him- so I went. As I was laying on the table getting measured (something they do, along with weighing you- to help figure out if you are getting "Huge"), he marks down the number and says "perfect". So pregnancy hormones and all- I say "Perfectly huge?" then explain how everyones choice of words is HUGE for me. He just laughs, and tells me that for 6 months I am exactly where I should be- he said he thought I would be bigger, because I also have a cyst in there- remember? I felt better with that. Then he told me to tell anyone that says I am huge "Remember, I am 6 months pregnant. There is a baby in there- along with a cyst. And my doctor says I am right where I should be" So that is my line now- and he told me not to be afraid to use it! He said that is the main complaint from pregnant women- they are looking forward to the belly, and knowing there is a baby in there- and knowing everyone can tell- but then they get the comments like HUGE, big, and WOW look at you! And with the hormones they melt- those aren't the things they want to hear! Now I know- and I will never again- if I ever did before i am sorry- I will never again comment on how big a pregnant women is getting- i will however comment on how good she looks for carrying that baby!

My guess is it is a natural response- because a women does get bigger with pregnancy- but that is because there is a growing baby in there!

Maybe this is my pregnancy rant for the day- or maybe it is pregnancy hormones. I am not meaning to make anyone feel bad, or blaming anyone- but maybe we should all focus on the good- that there is a baby in there- and not focus (and draw attention to the fact) that the mother is getting bigger! If you want to say someone is getting bigger- lets look at the people around the pregnant women who is gaining sympathy weight! Pregnant women have enough stresses, and things to deal with- including those fun hormones! They don't need people to let them know how big they are getting- trust me, when you can't bend over to put socks on, or tie your shoes, or you can't roll over in bed without making a scene- you become aware, all by your self- how big you are getting- you don't need people to point it out! What you do need every now and again is to hear someone say that you have that pregnancy glow, or you look good, or even that they can't wait to see the baby- Something positive! Trust me, us pregnant women are trying to plan how to get this weight off the fastest way possible- through out the whole pregnancy- so we don't need it pointed out for us- we know we are getting bigger- THERE IS A BABY IN THERE!!!!!!!

That is my rant for the day! No offense to anyone- it just gets old listening to that all the time!!
