Well yesterday was our doctors appt to go over the ultrasound. I wasn't that worried, because of the reading I had done on the internet I had an idea that everything would be fine. Brett couldn't make it, because we thought it was just to go over the ultrasound- so he stayed at work. Turns out they just switched the appt I was going to have on the 15th to yesterday, so we did my weight, blood pressure, listened to the heartbeat- etc. My weight and blood pressure are perfect. Danika's heartbeat is 155. I got to hear her heart beat and mine at the same time- it was pretty cool. She is sitting pretty high, so that is how we heard both. Then we got to the ultrasound. Danika is perfectly healthy! Perfect size, weight, heart and brain are great, and all the organs are where they should be and doing what they should be doing! The only thing they mentioned with regards to her is her left hand. She had it in a fist so they couldn't see all the fingers. They did mention they saw all the right bones- but she wouldn't extend her hand to show off all of her fingers- but that is not a worry! Then the got to me!!! She started with the placenta- read that the tech had said it was low lying. My doctor actually laughed! She said the placenta is 1 and a half cms from the opening of the cervix, so nothing to worry about. She said it is basically stuck to the wall, and when the uterus grows, it will move. So she said not to worry about that at all, she is not concerned a bit- she is 100% positive it will move away- and it isn't that close to do any harm anyway! So that was good news. Then she kept reading about the fibroids- the ultrasound tech said a 7cm mass to the right that could be fibroids. Well duh- that is the cyst we have been dealing with all along! But good news- it shrunk!!!! It was 13cms a month ago. So I was very happy to hear that. Nothing bad came out of that ultrasound- all good news- and because of Danikas hand, and the placenta I get to go at 28 weeks to see her again (through ultrasound- yeah, more pictures!)
The doctor also told me that she thinks, because of her experience, my size and Danikas size that I will go full term, and deliver naturally- no c-section, which is also great news! I was getting worried- because to have a c-section, you have to have an epidural- which I do not want. She said that she thinks the cyst will go down by then, and they will just watch it for awhile after Danika is born. And see what it does- then decide. But she doesn't see a need for a c-section- unless Danika gets really big!
So all in all, great news. We are so happy that everything is perfect with Danika, and things with me aren't that bad!
Happy weekend to everyone!!!!
