Yesterday I had my doctors appointment. It was just with our family doctor. I see the OB/GYN on Tuesday. But this appointment came with good time.
Wednesday morning (early- like 3am) I got up to go to the bathroom. And noticed a bit of blood. Only when I wiped and only once. But of course I freaked out a bit. I tried to go back to sleep- and after about 2 hours- did. Only to get up an hour later. I looked online and found that 95% of spotting in the first trimester is fine- 5% could be something not so good. I knew I had an appt that day- so I just waited, and waited.
Brett was home sick- so thankfully he could come with me and watch Danika while I talked to the dr. While we did our check- her assistant called some ultrasound places to get us in- due to the bleeding- to check on the baby. Within minutes of getting her to do that she had an appt for us- in an hour. So I started drinking water.
The appt went well with the dr- everything is looking good.
We got to the ultrasound place. Brett and Danika waited in the waiting room. And the tech took me back. I laid down- we talked and she took the info she needed. Then she went to get Brett and Danika- I didn't get to see anything until she came back with them. She turned the screen- and put the thing on my belly- and there he (because that is what we think "it" is) was. He looks like a little slug right now- he was all curled up. He wiggled his big head (another Hendricks head- thank goodness for the c-section), and sort of waved at us. The tech told us that at this stage they are just starting to move- so we were lucky we saw him moving around. Then I noticed his little heart beating- it was so cute!
She said that everything looks good- and she can only guess- but she thinks that the spotting was just more implantation bleeding as he gets bigger.
Danika was looking on the screen too- we told her that that was the baby- she squealed and laughed at it. It was very cute!
The next ultrasound we get will be the week before Christmas- when we will find out if we are right and "it" is a boy.
